1.4 Office of Research AccountingRevised 6/15/00 The Office of Research Accounting has the primary responsibility for maintaining fiscal records of contracts and grants, supplying project fiscal information to Principal Investigators (PI), and submitting fiscal reports to sponsoring agencies. It also supports the principal investigators in managing the financial aspects of the projects. Project fiscal management reports are prepared monthly and disseminated to every PI. Management reports can also be view at www.acs.utah.edu/bin/finance/MgmtRpt at any time. Additional fiscal details can often be supplied in response to specific inquiries. The office also assists the PI in interpreting financial statements for their projects. Additional financial information can be found at the Administrative Financial home page at gate.acs.utah.edu. Upon request, PI's can obtain a current analysis of expenditures and commitments on any project. The office also advises PI's on allowable expenses, necessary justifications or approvals and the timing of important considerations.
